Miranda is the boss everyone dreads and probably never hopes to have. She is unpredictable, cold, calculating, etc.
Miranda has her own purpose in the movie, her company and her career. She is the protagonist of her own story. The movie showed that she is capable for that leadership role and how much she has to sacrifice to preserve the position.
She makes her work a priority when she flies down to paris, although she has to miss her twins' recital. she did try her best to make it there.
Miranda understands that to be successful, you have to be driven and remain loyal to your job.
